St Paul’s has a governance system that is typical of many Anglican Churches. First of all, we are under the authority of our Diocesan Bishop and the Diocese of Toronto. There are canons or rules that we are required to follow.

On the local level, there are two lay people called wardens (Lawrence Weese & Brian Stonehouse) who oversee much of the financial and administrative needs of the parish. One warden is elected and one warden is appointed each year at our annual general meeting (called Vestry) in January.

There is also an Advisory Board that is made up of representatives of the congregation. The Advisory Board  usually meets at 7:00pm  on the third Thursday of each month, to care for the smooth running of the parish.  Advisory Board meetings are open, and all members of St.Paul's are welcome to attend as guests.  Copies of the meeting minutes are made available on the Welcome table each month, and on the Current News page of this website.

Pastor Michael works very closely and in conjunction with these teams.  The Rev’d Michael Calderwood has been pastor here at St. Paul’s since 2006.  He was ordained in 1989 and has enjoyed ministry in a variety of settings, from southern Ontario to Newfoundland.  Over the years, he has developed some skills and passion around preaching, bible study and spiritual direction.  He also is intrigued by some of the changes in the church, especially around things like decision-making, leadership and mission.  On the Diocesan level, Michael is involved with Back to Church Sunday, writing in various Diocesan media, Area Episcopal Council, and the Fresh Start program for new clergy in new ministry settings.

We are currently without an organist, but we are not without music.  Our music ministry team - under the direction of our music director,  Nadia Stogryn -  meets 4 times a year to plan out the next seasons services.  They work with guest musicians, and musicians within our parish, to provide music which reflects the diversity of our church community,   We are  continuing our search for an organist.

Sarah Stogryn is our office administrator and is also responsible for booking our parish hall. Sarah has been a regular member of our parish since 2007.  She is also a certified birth doula, providing support and care to women in our community during pregnancy, birth & postpartum.
